Security Update on Crypto.org Chain (2 Dec 2021)
Welcome to our Crypto.org security newsletter!
As some of you already know, we will launch the Phase II Draco update and have released the v3.3.2 chain-maind lately.
This version is meant for the Draco II - Phase 2 mainnet upgrade to enable native token issuance via IBC solo machines. Coin Issuance is an essential building block for the Crypto.org Chain DeFi ecosystem. The tokens can be issued easily with solutions such as Solo Machine, and they are natively recognized and can be transferred around for the purposes such as payment and NFT trading.
The binary v3.3.2 is upgraded based on Cosmos SDK 0.44.4, Ibc-go 2.0.0, and Tendermint v0.34.14, which contain a fix for the vesting account migrations and several breaking changes on PRC endpoints including improving error message of SendTransaction/SendRawTransaction JSON-RPC APIs and making fixes on getting block invalid transactions filter and wrong block gas limit returned by JSON-RPC and more. The complete changelog can be found here.
The 14-day voting period begins at 5:51 UTC on 22 November 2021 and will end on 6 December 2021 at 5:51 UTC.
The steps are as below:
If the governance proposal passes, the chain will be upgraded with the new active validator at block height #3,526,800.
The Chain will be paused to allow the majority of validators to upgrade at the time. All node operators should upgrade your node binary to v3.3.2 at the upgrade time so that your node can continue to sync with the chain.
Please note: DO NOT UPGRADE to the binary v3.3.2 before that suggested upgrade schedule.
The latest chain-maind binary v3.3.2 is available to download here, and the detailed instruction that users can follow to complete the upgrade is available here.
