Security Update on Crypto.org Chain (26 May 2021)
Welcome to our security newsletter!
As many of you already know, we will launch Phase I - Canis Major update and conduct our first major mainnet upgrade soon!
The “Canis Major” upgrade allows Mainnet to be equipped with the NFT module. Once this upgrade is performed, minting, trading, and transfer of NFT will be available on the native Crypto.org Chain. Other key changes of the upgrade include Arm64 architecture support (Linux and macOS) and adjusted default timeout_commit used in the consensus process. The complete changelog can be found here.
The mainnet is scheduled to be upgraded to the latest version of v2.0.1 on 1st June 2021 at 23:59 UTC. For this "Canis Major" network upgrade, all node operators should upgrade your node binary at the upgrade time so that your node can continue to sync with the chain. The Chain will be paused to allow the majority of validators to upgrade at the time.
Please note: DO NOT UPGRADE to the binary v2.0.1 before that suggested upgrade schedule.
Here is the detailed instruction that users can follow to complete the upgrade.
The latest chain-maind binary v2.0.1 is available for download here.
